The 2027 program

Impartial Institute offers selected creators a 12-month program of support — enabling them to focus on investigating, creating compelling content and holding power to account.

  • Income for a year, enabling full time focus on their craft. The grant is paid quarterly.

  • We provide a ‘newsroom’ behind the cohort — providing support from production and motion design, to strategy and publishing.

  • From mental health support to career planning, our creators will be backed by a highly experienced team.

  • Impartial Institute provides legal counsel and guidance in navigating the digital space.

We’re looking for creator-journalists who ask good questions

  • Proven track record in journalism or storytelling

  • Demonstrated impact in any medium

  • Clearly defined project for a full-time year

  • Defined goals for measurable impact

  • Previous work examples, resume, 2-3 referees
